The Cummins ST-221 Tool Kit includes various components for installation and removal of parts.

Cummins ST-221 Tool Kit includes an Installer plate (3164365), Crankshaft seal guide, Guide screw (3164367), and Washer (3164366). Additional components include Installer screw (3164619) and 6 Sheet metal screws. The kit also features Button head socket screw (3165056) and Ttt (6 shown) (3165046). A Remover screw adapter is included along with a Drill bit #31, and Remover screw (3165059).

To install Cummins ISM rear main seal, assemble oil seal and crankshaft, then finger-tighten and torque guide screws to 62 in-lbs.

To install a rear main seal on a Cummins ISM 0.00, place the crankshaft seal guide with the two parts of the oil seal together. Do not push on the oil seal cap screw flange counterbore holes facing outward away from the assembly. Push the black inside the oil seal area while making sure the raised section is facing toward the rear. Place the oil seal assembly onto the crankshaft and install the two guide screws in opposite directions. Finger tighten the guide screws, then torque to 62 in-lbs.

Install rear crankshaft oil seal on L1O/M1 engines with Repto, tighten capscrews to 6n.m, then installer screw to 34n.m.

Make sure to remove the remover screw adapter. Rotate the oil seal cap screw flange to align with Seal #4089542, which is used with Seal. Removes removed before the installation process. Install the 12 capscrews that install the rear crankshaft oil seal on L1O/M1 engines with a rear power take off (Repto). Lubricate the threads of the installer screw with multi-purpose lubricant or suitable grease. Tighten three capscrews 120 degrees apart to a torque value of 6 n.m [50 in-lb]. Tighten all capscrews, starting with the three previously tightened crisscrossing pattern. Position the installer plate (1) onto the rear crankshaft oil seal and the crankshaft seal guide. Install the installer screw (5) through the washer (4) and the installer plate (1). Turn the installer screw clockwise until the installer plate (1) positions the rear crankshaft oil seal against the flywheel housing. Tighten the installer screw to a torque value of 34 n.m [25 ft-lb]. Remove the installer screw (5), washer (4), and the installer plate (1). Remove the two guide screws (3) and the crankshaft seal guide.
